Our Story

At Misaligned Design

We’re Alison and Olga—two artists from different walks of life, carving, stitching, and shaping our way through bold, contrasting creative paths.

Alison conjures a realm of Macabre Whimsical Creatures—hand-carved lino prints that live between eerie and enchanting. Her work is highly detailed, filled with fine lines and textures that bring each Ghostie, planchette, or beast to life. Through her “Planchette & Ghostie” line, her art appears on charms, apparel, totes, and more—made for the curious and the connected.

Olga’s creations are rooted in precision and craft. Her intricate lino carving reveals a love for detail and balance. With a deep appreciation for process, she continues to explore new creative directions—including embroidery and glass bead-work—each one a celebration of meticulous, hands-on artistry.

Our styles shouldn’t work together, but somehow… they do. We meet at the crossroads of contrast, where the bold and the delicate collide in unexpected harmony.

We create because we must—because our ideas won’t sit still. Whether it’s Alison’s shadowy creatures or Olga’s evolving mix of craft and carve, our work invites you into a world where contrast is celebrated, and art is anything but ordinary.

This artwork is a linocut print of a rocket, designed with sharp, geometric facets that make it look like a crystal or gemstone. The rocket has three angular fins and emits streaks of exhaust lines from the bottom, creating a sense of motion.

The background features a soft watercolor-like wash of pastel colors—blue, green, and yellow—blending together, giving it a dreamy, cosmic feel. The contrast between the dark, bold lines of the rocket and the gentle, airy background creates a striking effect, making the rocket stand out as a futuristic or even surreal object.

This piece combines retro sci-fi aesthetics with an artistic, hand-crafted printmaking style, giving it a unique balance between mechanical precision and organic expression. It could symbolize exploration, ambition, or innovation, with the faceted design hinting at something precious, like a journey into the unknown or a metaphor for progress.
